We never use chemical herbicides or pesticides on our produce. Growing hydroponically eliminates the need for herbicides since we are not combating native weeds or other invasive growth that conventional farming battles with. When necessary we
utilize carefully considered pesticide measures that respect the plant and the end consumer.

All of our lettuce and leafy greens are grown hydroponically year-round in a controlled environment greenhouse. Hydroponics is a form of horticulture using mineral nutrient solutions. The nutrients are delivered to the plants through an irrigated water system, eliminating the need for soil. This method is extremely water conscious as the system recirculates all of the water and none is wasted. It was important to Ron that his farm be sensitive to the desert environment and be as water wise as possible.
